Intermediate Nosework

Expand your dog’s scent detection skills in this class focused on exterior and vehicle searches. Designed to build on previous training, this course challenges dogs to work in outdoor environments with greater distractions, variable conditions, and the added complexity of vehicle searches. Your dog will learn to navigate wind, temperature changes, and other environmental factors while maintaining focus and accurately locating target odors. Through structured exercises and real-world search scenarios, we’ll strengthen your dog’s confidence, independence, and problem-solving abilities. Whether preparing for competitive trials or simply seeking a fun new challenge, this class will take your teamwork to the next level!

• Dog must have completed Intro to Odor or equivalent (with instructor permission).

• Dog must be proficient with simple searches using Birch, Anise, and Clove.

• Dogs must not be aggressive towards humans.

You will need a flat collar, martingale collar, or harness with a back clip for your dog to wear while searching.

You will be using the odor kit  and scent vessels provided to you in Intro to Odor.
