Intro to Odor

$200, includes a nosework odor kit with 3 target odors and a variety of scent vessels. You will use this scent kit throughout the entire nosework program.

About this class
Take your dog’s scenting skills to the next level in this exciting class, where we introduce the concept of pairing food with target odors. Building on the foundations of hunt drive and nosework, this course teaches your dog to associate specific scents with rewards, creating a strong and reliable search behavior. Through progressive exercises, your dog will learn to identify and indicate target odors, work in increasingly complex search environments, and refine their focus and precision. This class is ideal for those continuing their nosework journey, whether for enrichment or competitive scent work. Dogs will advance at their own pace, developing confidence and consistency in locating and responding to odors.
Prerequisites

Dog must have completed Intro to Nosework or equivalent (with instructor permission)

Dog should be at least 3 months in age.

Dogs must not be aggressive towards humans.

I highly recommend that the dog is food motivated.
Supplies
You will need a flat collar, martingale collar, or harness with a back clip for your dog to wear while searching.

You will also use the boxes and containers that you received during Intro to Nosework.
